eBay's new FCC ID rule can pull your radio listings. We caught 6 of ours in one night
Since October 2026 eBay requires an FCC ID on listings for wireless, Bluetooth and radio items. A nightly check flags every listing and draft that needs one, so nothing disappears by surprise.

The problem
Marketplace rules change and the email gets missed. Then listings disappear.
The workflow
- Watch eBay's seller announcements for new required item specifics.
- Add the rule to the nightly audit: any listing in a radio-device category, or whose title says wireless, Bluetooth, remote or radio, must carry an FCC ID item specific.
- Flag drafts too, so new listings cannot go out without it.
- Put the FCC ID photo on the shoot list for any electronics item.
What happened
The rule took effect October 13, 2026. The store had six affected listings, all flagged and corrected before the date.
For your store
Our honest estimate from running this. Your store and numbers will differ.
- What you need
- Any wireless, Bluetooth or radio items in your eBay store, and their FCC IDs (usually on a label or inside the battery door). The nightly check needs eBay API access and a script.
- First try takes
- An evening to fix current listings by hand.
- First step tonight
- Search your active listings for Bluetooth, wireless, radio and remote. Add the FCC ID item specific to each one that needs it.
- After a week
- Your current listings are covered. Add the FCC ID label to your photo routine for electronics so new listings go out with it.
Tools in this one
- Claude Code Agent that writes and runs code on your own computer. How most of the Beartooth tools were built.
- eBay API Official way for your own software to read listings, orders and traffic. Browser bots are against eBay's terms; the API is not.
